Spring Events, New Ways of Growing, and Our 2025 Missions
Hey there, SG friends and family! Now that we’ve made it through our busy holiday season, we’re excited to return and share some long-overdue updates with you all! It’s been a little while since our last post, but during the hiatus, we’ve been working on new ideas, reflecting on what’s next, and getting inspired in ways that we can’t wait to share. Whether you’ve been following along from the beginning or are just joining now, we’re thrilled to have you back with us as we dive into some fresh content and exciting news. So, let’s catch up!
Recently, our friends at the Anchorage Daily News approached us with information about the Alaska Craft Brew & Barley Wine Festival. We love events like this, craft brew festivals are a celebration of creativity and craftsmanship and the passion which goes into making the beverages is awesome to see. It’s not just about the drinks, though—there’s something about the lively energy, the chance to chat with passionate brewers, and the opportunity to discover new favorites that makes the whole experience unforgettable. Whether you're with friends or meeting fellow enthusiasts, there’s always something to laugh about, something to learn, and plenty to sip as you soak in the festivities. We’ll be sponsoring the event on Friday January 31st & Saturday February 1st at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage. If we see you there, we’ll be networking with new and familiar faces and giving away redeemable passes for any .5g pre-rolls for $1 in either of our stores. We hope to see you there soon!
Over the course of this last year, we have been running controlled trials of a few different nutrient lines for our cultivation – testing and recording data on which blend provides a balanced mix of macro & micronutrients which promotes the health and development of our plants even more than what we have previously been using. After numerous tests, we discovered Front Row Ag, which has provided us some incredible results. We’re now operating fully with their nutrient line, and the difference has been noticeable—healthier, more vibrant plants with stronger, more resilient structures, and noticeably larger yields. The new formula also seems to enhance the terpene profiles, bringing out richer flavors and aromas in the final product. It’s been a rewarding transition, and the results speak for themselves, reinforcing the importance of continuously refining cultivation practices to ensure the best possible harvest. The Front Row Ag team has been fantastic to work with, and we’re excited to continue this fruitful relationship.
Now that the new year has kicked off, we’re thrilled to begin our work with the Jimbo’s Wish ALS Foundation and to start gearing up for our much-anticipated summer event! We spent the latter half of last year reaching out to families affected by ALS in Wasilla and in Anchorage and installing housing modifications for them. Each person struggling against the disease has unique needs and requires creative solutions to have freedom of movement and quality of life in their home, so the work has required much problem solving. We’re now diving back into the planning process for July with renewed energy and excitement. We’ve got big goals this year, and we’re already hard at work securing partnerships, gathering resources, and coordinating volunteers to make this summer’s Second Annual Golf Tournament bigger and better than ever. Whether it’s raising awareness, supporting our cause, or bringing the community together for a day of fun and giving back, we can’t wait to see all the hard work come to life.
