Sparking Up Some Joy - 420 at Scorpion Grass
Our favorite time of the year is upon us once again, and we’re incredibly excited to share it with our Alaskan cannabis community! It has been an extremely busy time for us at Scorpion Grass since our previous blog post – in May of last year our leadership team traveled to Nashville Tennessee to participate in a truly special event. We joined up with entrepreneurs and business leaders from all sorts of industries to share an inspiring two days with author & restaurateur Will Guidara at the first Unreasonable Hospitality Summit. The lessons we took from the trip have been extremely valuable, and instrumental in how we guide our team and our culture.
Following that, we helped to host the Second Annual Jimbo’s Wish ALS Golf Tournament in July at the Settlers Bay Golf Course – the singular annual fundraising event for the foundation. Jim Hacker was a dear friend to many of us at Scorpion Grass and he played an instrumental role in establishing our business, so it was our honor to participate in the event. Companies and individuals all throughout the Mat-Su Valley and Anchorage gathered together to show their support towards the families impacted by ALS in Alaska. The day was a massive success, we had over 40 businesses involved and over 125 players, and in total Jimbo’s Wish raised nearly one hundred thousand dollars. Those resources have since been used to dramatically improve the lives of families in Alaska who have needed aid and who are dealing with ALS.
Towards the latter half of the year, we have made major improvements and additions to both our Cultivation and our Manufacturing here in Wasilla. New tables for our grow have been implemented and we’ve made numerous advancements to our processes and operations. We also have a new bloom room coming online that we’re very excited about for our plants. This will provide a new environment to grow our strains with more customizable conditions.
There has been an increased demand for our products across Alaska and for that we want to express our sincerest gratitude. The partnerships we have with so many cannabis businesses throughout the state is something we are so thankful for, and the connections we’ve been able to build with the people here in our community has been nothing short of extraordinary. You fuel our motivation every day, and we’ll keep aiming to deliver the best cannabis we can along with unmatched hospitality.
